SERVICES
You will acquire the confidence to talk in Spanish. Of course at the beginning it will be on topics we do in class, but you will see that soon you will be looking up vocabulary to talk about all sorts of things.
Every year there is something different that needs doing: design a logo for a t-shirt, help add information to the web site, write a story...
In the future you might find Spanish useful in your work place, we will do a lot of CV related vocabulary and you will get to practice your interview skills too (see video).
The Spanish Consulate sponsors the 'Best Spanish Student' competition. This is open to all students doing ENGL356 and the prize is US$1000 to go to Spain to study or travel.

There are also presentations to be made, in the last semester we focus on Spain. You will select a tourist destination within Spain and "sell" it to your fellow students.
And more Skype opportunities! Some students establish such good relationships through Skype that they end up visiting their Skype mates in Spain.
